What does this calculator mean?
A bowler's economy rate shows how many runs they concede per over. The economy rate calculator gives you that figure from runs conceded and overs bowled.
Economy is especially important in limited-overs cricket, where a tight spell builds pressure that often leads to wickets at the other end.

Formula used
Economy rate = Total runs conceded ÷ Overs bowled
Part-overs are converted to decimals (e.g. 3.2 overs = 3.333).Example
A bowler concedes 45 runs in 10 overs. Economy rate = 45 ÷ 10 = 4.50.
Frequently asked questions
Is a lower economy rate better?
Yes. A lower economy rate means the bowler concedes fewer runs per over.
Do wides and no-balls count?
Yes. Wides and no-balls are charged to the bowler and count toward runs conceded. Byes and leg-byes do not.
