What does this calculator mean?
The projected score calculator estimates where an innings will finish if the batting side keeps scoring at its current run rate. It is the same projection you see on broadcast graphics during T20 and ODI matches.
Use it to judge whether a team is on course for a competitive total, or to plan a declaration or a chase in club cricket.
How to use the projected score calculator
- Enter current score, overs played and total overs.
- Press Calculate projected score.
- Read the result below the button. Change any value and recalculate as often as you like.
Formula used
Example
Scenario: A team has 147 runs after 25 overs of a 50-over match.
- Current run rate: 147 ÷ 25 = 5.88
- Remaining overs: 50 − 25 = 25
- Projected score: 147 + (5.88 × 25) = 294 runs
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is a projected score?
It assumes the current scoring rate continues. In practice teams usually accelerate in the final overs and lose wickets, so treat the projection as a baseline rather than a prediction.
Can I use it for T20 matches?
Yes. Set total overs to 20 (or any format length) and the projection adjusts automatically.
