Tournament Points Table Calculator

What does this calculator mean?

League tables in cricket are built from simple points rules. The tournament points table calculator totals a team's points from its wins, ties and no results.

Points systems differ between competitions, so you can change the points awarded for each result. The defaults (2 for a win, 1 for a tie or no result) are common in many limited-overs tournaments.

How to use the tournament points table calculator

  1. Enter wins, ties, no results, points per win, points per tie and points per no result.
  2. Press Calculate points.
  3. Read the result below the button. Change any value and recalculate as often as you like.

Formula used

Points = (Wins × points per win) + (Ties × points per tie) + (No results × points per no result)
Losses earn 0 points. Teams level on points are usually separated by net run rate.

Example

5 wins, 1 tie and 2 no results with a 2-1-1 system = (5 × 2) + (1 × 1) + (2 × 1) = 13 points.

Frequently asked questions

How are teams on equal points separated?

Most tournaments use net run rate as the first tie-breaker, followed by head-to-head results or wins.

Do bonus points apply?

Some leagues award bonus points for big wins. Add those to the result manually, or adjust the points per win.
